                                             Canoe Touring Guide Book to Europe
       This is a guidebook to multi-day canoe routes in Europe. It is primarily intended for those canoe-camping
from open canoes or sea-kayaks. The routes are on lakes and easy rivers. The most difficult rapids on these
routes are grade 2 which should be canoeable in an open uncovered canoe. Some routes are given in detail, but
many are only given in outline. Sources of information are given and these should provide all the information
needed to paddle a route. I have canoed many of these routes, but for others my information is gained from
other sources.
      When I have completed the guide, which could be several years away, because of other committments, I
will attempt to find a publisher but until then the guide will be available on this website.

This is the first draft of the guidebook. I have to add a map showing the location of the routes and
pages on general information on multi-day canoe trips.  I have a few more routes to add in Sweden

Can you help?
1) I would like to add additional routes, particularly in continental Europe. I would appreciate any
information that readers have on routes
2) If you are knowledgeable about a particular route I would appreciate information as to the accuracy
of the information I have in these pages.
3) I would be pleased to hear of additional sources of information, maps, canoe hire and other facilities
on these routes.
4) I have not included detailed canoe maps for the routes. I have in fact got canoe maps and detailed
descriptions of many of the Swedish routes but I would be breaking copyright to post these maps. I
would be delighted to hear from the owners of the rights to any of the canoe maps as to whether they
would give me permission to post their maps or more detailed descriptions on this site.
