The Fegen lakes are part of a conservation area and are popular with canoeists. This route about 40% on
lakes and the remainder on small rivers.
Start: Fegen: Fegen and the finish, Ätran, are on route 153 about 50 km east of Varberg.
Finish: Ätran
Transport: there is only about 6 km between start and finish.
Distance: 75 km

Route extension: You can continue another 50 km down the Ätran to the Kattegut at Falkenberg.

The route:
a) The Fegensjöarna 30 km
From Fegen head NE up lake Fegen and then north into Västra Fegen. Leave Västra Fegen by its SW
corner into N Svansjön and S Svansjön before portaging into Kalvsjön and head north to Kalv.
b) Lillån/Ätran 45 km
Portage into the small river, Lillån and follow this to another portage just before reaching the Ätran. The
Ätran is a wider river and is followed until a portage is needed round some small rapids. Another 13 km
brings you to Skåpanas where you will need to take your canoe out about 1 km before the dam for a 3km
portage. End this tour at Ätran.
